Moncy Hawkins, CFEI/Credit Strategist  built FIG Restoration on three letters that mean everything to her — Faith In God.

Her story begins at 18. After the sudden loss of her mother, Moncy found herself homeless and financially unstable — not because of bad choices, but because life moved faster than anyone expected. Rather than stay defined by that season, she made intentional decisions that changed everything. Through faith, discipline, and education, she repaired her credit, secured housing in her own name, and achieved financial stability before the age of 20.

That was chapter one.

Years later, after nearly two decades in corporate finance and accounting — including work connected to Big Four accounting firms — Moncy had built a life that looked like success from the outside. A home. Investment properties. A family. A future.

And then she lost it all.

In one of the hardest seasons of her life, she found herself starting over — not at 18, but as an adult with children who were watching her every move. What she told them in that season became the foundation of everything she does today:

That comeback was not the result of shortcuts or gimmicks. It came through structure, discipline, and faith. When Moncy stopped chasing the things she thought she wanted and started chasing God, everything else fell into place — her business, her purpose, and the people she was meant to serve.

In 2017, she founded FIG Restoration — not as a business idea, but as an act of obedience. Her goal was clear: to help others rebuild intentionally with the structure and guidance she once needed herself.

Because she has walked both chapters of this journey, Moncy brings something rare to this work — not just expertise, but empathy. Not just strategy, but faith.

Her commitment to that mission has taken her well beyond the walls of her own business. She has served on the board of Women in Insurance & Financial Services (WIFS) and spent four years as a Credit Counselor with the Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance, educating aspiring entrepreneurs on building the credit foundation needed to secure business financing. That work has placed her on stages and in classrooms across Houston and beyond — including Texas Woman’s University, Houston Community College, SCORE Houston, the Houston Area Urban League, and the Houston Public Library — as well as on the national stage as a featured speaker at Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp.

She is a National Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI), a Board Certified Credit Consultant, and a trusted voice in credit restoration and financial education. Her work has been recognized by outlets including Black Enterprise, CORE Magazine — which named her among the 100 Most Influential Blacks Today — Amazing 102.5 FM, Majic 102.1, and VoyageHouston, among others.
